BASTARD NEGRE, PEPE RAVENTOS
ORIGIN: Spain, Penedès
VARIETY/BLEND: 100% Bastard Negre
SOILS: Calcareous soil, with clay-loam texture
FERMENTATION: Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts from the vineyard in three open French and Qveri oak barrels for 15 days.
AGEING: Aged during the winter months in French oak barrels.
It is a plant resistant to drought, high temperatures and moderately resistant to fungi, with a late budding and long cycle. Low productivity and rustic. A variety that gives us aromas of wild fruits and undergrowth. In the mouth it has a medium structure, very fresh with low ph.
It was in 2014 that Pepe Raventós began his most pure and personal project focused only on making natural wines in the garage of his home: Mas del Serral. Wine is without suplhites or additives as a way of working and understanding life. The main objective is to make authentic and balanced wines that fairly express the intrinsic nature of the terroir.
