PHINCALALI, BODEGAS BHILAR
APPELLATION: D.O.Ca. Rioja (sub-region: Rioja Alavesa)
VARIETY/BLEND: 90% Tempranillo, 10% Viura
SOILS: Clay and limestone
FERMENTATION: The grapes were destemmed by hand with approximately 30% of the stems making it into the fermentation vessels – open top 500-liter oak barrels. The grapes are foot crushed and the fermentation starts naturally with native yeast.
AGEING: The wine is matured in oak barrels for three years.
Intense purple fruit and violets on the nose, developing aromas of liquorice, clove and a touch of vanilla. Firm tannins, crisp acidity and structure; Lali shows dense black fruit, ripe cherry, mint and eucalyptus on the palate. Powerful fruit intensity persists throughout the finish.
